Founded in 1946, Barragers Cleaners and Laundromat has provided professional fabric care services to the Halton Hills community for over 50 years.
After taking over Barragers in 1985, our main concerns has been on how to best serve our customers and our community. As a result, we have initiated several innovative programs and services to best meet your needs.
- Speedy Bag Service
In 1986 we introduced speedy bag. We understand that our customers have busy life, hence we implemented the speedy bag to help save you some time. All you have to do is put the clothes in the bag and drop it off at the store, we will do the rest. Quick and Easy for your convenience. - Business Automation
In response to feedback from our customers and to improve the productivity and timeliness of our service we have computerized our business in 1989. This has resulted in quicker and more accurate service for our customers. We are constantly upgrading our processes to improve efficiency. The last major update was in 1999. - Blue Bag Service
This is similar to the speedy bag service, but no tissue or plastic bags are used. Each bag doubles as a cover for your clothes to help us return them to you in the environmentally friendly way. - Committed to the Environment
We are continuously updating our processes and machinery to those that are more environmentally friendly. Wet cleaning, a process that produces considerably less environmental waste is being consistently used. Two of our staff members are also environmental certified. - Free Pickup & Delivery
At Barragers, we understand that you may not have the time to see us, so we will come to you. We will come and pick up your clothes and drop them off to you when they are done. - Community Involvement
Barragers collected, cleaned and distributed coats for those who are less fortunate than us for the annual coats for the needy drive. This service took place for about seven years, but was stopped because the channels for distribution dried up. - New Location
Recognizing the need for more time saving services, Barragers Cleaners moved locations to 332 Guelph Street in Georgetown in October 2000. The move enabled us to offer a "DRIVE UP SERVICE" and a "24 hour drop-off box" to our customers who are especially pressed for time and who may not be able to visit us during normal business hours. In the new location we have also made the following adjustments to help meet your needs.- We have increased hours of operation to 7 days a week.
- We have modernized and doubled the capacity of our Laundromat, added new technology, oversized machines and central air conditioning throughout the premises as well as a TV to help customers pass the time.
